Ken T. Williams is an actor, educator, and director based out of Milwaukee, WI. He has been performing, directing, and designing for all aspects of performing arts for more than 25 years. Ken has been blessed to portray some amazing characters with some outstanding companies on some wonderful productions including Megs in Stephen Metcalfe's Strange Snow and Houston in the Midwest premiere of Lori Matthews' October, Before I Was Born (Milwaukee Chamber Theatre), Harry in Theresa Rebeck's The Understudy and Dave in the New York premiere of Gwendolyn Rice's Lucky Numbers (Renaissance Theatreworks), Epilogue in Will Eno's The Flu Season (Youngblood Theatre), O Li Roon in the Milwaukee premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's In the Red and Brown Water (Uprooted Theatre), Jamie Tyrone in Eugene O'Neil's Long Day's Journey into Night (Cornerstone Theatre), Foster Batterham in the world premiere of Patty McCarty's This Other Love (Acacia Theatre), Andrei in Anton Chekov's The Three Sisters (Windfall Ensemble), Stephano in William Shakespeare's The Tempest and Angus in MacBeth (Optimist Theatre), Howard Rudd in Romulus Linney's Holy Ghosts (Quasi-Theatre), the original Zeke Zelinsky in Tony Wood's A Cudahy Caroler Christmas and Kip Harris in David Lyndsay-Abbaire's Wonder of the World (In Tandem Theatre), Duke of Albany in William Shakespeare's King Lear (Alchemist Theatre), and Crumpet in David Sedaris' one man show Santaland Diaries (Lake Geneva Theatre Company)
Ken is a true believer in arts education, he feels that theatre in particular is a great way to learn effective interpersonal communication skills. Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He has worked with a wide variety of theatre programs including Sunset School of the Arts, Waukesha Civic Theatre Arts Program, Racine Prairie School, Milwaukee Public Schools, UW Milwaukee, Wisconsin Lutheran College, First Stage Children's Theatre where he served as the Summer Academy Director, UW Whitewater, Marquette University, Marquette University High School, Pius XI High School, Carmen High School of Science and Technology, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee, and University Lake School where he is currently the Theatre Director. Ken assisted in the creation of standards for teaching theatre both for the school district of Milwaukee and First Stage, the largest actor training program of its kind in the United States. Some of the classes he has taught include Auditioning, Acting for the Stage, Acting for Film, Improvisation, Scene Study, Creative Drama, Arts Integration, Theatre History, Dialect Preparation, Stage Combat, Relaxation Techniques, Shakespeare Text Work and Movement.
Ken can also be seen on screens both large and small. He had a starring role playing Howard Bluhm, a mild mannered bumbling CPA, in Salty Earth's Telly Award winning video series Fifth Pew From the Front, as well as rambunctious man child Tommy in Discovery World's Secret Labs Radio Show . Ken's work on feature films includes the hard laced public servant in WTA's Something for Stevie, a PI named Frank with some secrets to tell in Salty Earth's Journey to Paradise, Bob Cratchitt in Salty Earth's A Mister Scrooge to See You, the epitome of evil as Dybbuk in Salty Earth's The Return where he also served as the violence designer, Tony who always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time in Salty Earth's The Author, The Star, and The Keeper, as well as the sequel Stand in the Gap, and as a voice of reason in Sekou Lukes' short film Voices from the Front Lines. You can see Ken on television in commercials for Mills Fleet Farm, The Milwaukee Brewers, Verlo Mattress Factory, Miller Brewing, and PC Productivity. He has filmed industrial videos for companies like Harley Davidson, Johnson Controls, Lakeside Industrial Trucking, Briggs & Stratton, Salty Earth, Kohl's Department Store, and Mercedes Benz.
Behind the scenes Ken is just as busy as a violence designer and production manager for Salty Earth Pictures. He wrote and directed You Can't Stop the Beat for the Lourdes Players. He has been given the chance to direct two world premieres Ben Parman's Work in Progress and Sydney Schlager's As We Wait for Milwaukee Chamber Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival. Ken has directed productions on academic, community, and professional stages. He also works as a dialect coach for local productions and colleges.
